Snowshoeing

Snowshoeing is organised on Pokljuka platou – explore the beautiful spruce forests of Triglav National Park and above Bohinj in mountainous area of Soriška planina. On your request we also explore other wonderful places with you (Logarska dolina, Cerkniško jezero, Bloke,…).

Snowshoeing is organised during day or by night.

Meeting point: Bled, behind hotel Krim

Persons: 10 – 20 persons

Needed gear: winter clothes, good waterproof hiking boots, gloves, hat, headlamp.

1. Snowshoeing on Možic 1602m above sea level – short hike

Možic is prominent peak in the mountainous area of Soriška planina. To the top there is a short ca. ½  to 1 hour easy hike.  Inside the Možic hill is hidden one of the bunkers which were bulit during the Wars. Around Možic there is a lot of small peaks which are very nice for easy hiking with snowshoes and all the time there is a magnificent view on the Julian Alps on the north and on Primorska on the south. In good visibility you can see the highest peak of Slovenia – Mt. Triglav (2864m) and the lowest point – the Adriatic Sea!

On the top of Možic you get some of the traditional Slovenian food – apple pie and honey schnapps!

Tour duration: 2-3 hours (snowshoeing), 4 hours (with transport)

2. Snowshoeing on Možic 1602m – longer hike

3. Snowshoeing in the woods of Triglav National Park – east edge of Pokljuka platou to the Galetovec peak (1265 m)

Galetovec peak is a fuzzy peak on the east edege of Pokljuka platou. It is probably the best sightseeing point in the area from where you can see most of Gorenjska area and it’s pearl – Bled. You can also see the mountains of Karavanke and Kaminške alpe, Jelovica platou and small village of Bohinjska Bela.

To Galetovec peak leads four different paths which we choose depending on physical fitness of participant, the weather and the season. All the paths are leading through wonderful spruce forests and mountain meadows. You can choose between 2 to 5 hours hike. All the paths are light and you do not need any special mountain gear.

On the top you are served with a little bit of traditional Slovenian food – homemade apple pie and honey schnapps!
